APPLICATIONS EXTENDED UNTIL FRIDAY 7TH MAY 2010Students studying Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related degrees will have the opportunity to participate in Stepping into Marketing in 2010. Stepping into Marketing is a four week paid internship program for university students with disability. The program is designed to provide students with skills and experiences which will assist them to obtain long term employment within their chosen profession. Stepping into Marketing is a joint initiative of the Australian Network on Disability and the participating organisations. Applicants are applying to the "Stepping into Marketing" program, not directly to the individual participating organisations. Please note your preferred organisation in your application if applicable. As this is a targeted program specifically for students with disability, applicants are required to provide any relevant disability information and any information regarding adjustments or modifications that may be required for the duration of the program;
- Applicants must be enrolled in the penultimate or final year of a Marketing, Communications or Advertising degree (or equivalent) at a recognised tertiary institution;
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia (please include a certified copy of the relevant Visa in your application). Please note that some employers will only accept Australian citizens into the program;
- Applicants must not be on leave of absence from their studies (e.g. deferred, working fulltime, etc);
- Applicants must be committed and prepared to fully participate in the program, including attending a briefing session conducted by the Australian Network on Disability before starting the program, and submitting post-program feedback upon completing their internship.
APPLICATION INFORMATION- Applications must be received by the Australian Network on Disability no later than COB Friday 30th April 2010;
- Applicants must specify the program they are applying for, their preferred location, as well as any preference for a specific organisation, on the application form;
- The program will commence in June/July 2010, for completion by August (N.B. dates are flexible to fit in with the different university breaks);
- The Australian Network on Disability will review the applications to ensure each one meets the eligibility criteria set out above;
- The participating organisations will assess candidates against their own internal criteria to select candidates for interview;
- Participating organisations will be responsible for notifying successful and unsuccessful candidates for interview and for offers of a placement;
- Each participating organisation is responsible for implementing its internship program with the assistance of the Australian Network on Disability.
GENERAL INFORMATIONAll applicants are strongly encouraged to provide feedback on all aspects of this program, including the promotional material, the application and interview process as well as the internship itself.
