Media Access Australia
Media Access Australia is Australia’s only independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to increasing access to media and technology for people with disabilities. We are a member of the World Wide Consortium (W3C) where we actively contribute to the global development of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the WCAG 2.0 standards. We are also a member of the global body for digital accessibility professionals, the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).
Media Access Australia provides innovative solutions, leveraging thought leadership to maximise digital engagement and inclusion for the broadest possible audience. This includes individuals with disability, older Australians, those from non-English-speaking backgrounds and those with varying levels of education and literacy.
Our team of experts and specialists works to improve digital accessibility for clients in practical ways. We provide consulting services, training and practical information on existing and emerging mainstream technologies across the full spectrum of media vehicles and channels in four key areas:
- Policy development and advocacy
- Strategy development
- Digital accessibility consulting and services
- Education and training
We also provide document remediation services – making digital documents accessible to people with vision impairments.Web Address: http://www.mediaaccess.org.au
