Australian Disability Standard Pilot
Mon 16 April 2012
Currently there are no benchmarking tools or evidence based strategies to assist Australian organisations to assess their level of ‘disability confidence’.
The Employers Forum on Disability (EFD) in the UK developed a highly successful ‘Disability Standard’ in 2005 in collaboration with their public and private sector members. Since then the EFD have revised the Standard and in 2011 an on-line version was sponsored by KPMG. The Disability Standard is the world's only business led benchmark on disability, it is a measurement framework that sets the benchmark for best practice on disability. It is an online management tool to help business to measure and improve on performance for customers, clients or service users, employees and stakeholders with disability.
The Australian Network on Disability is conducting a project to pilot the Standard and assess the suitability of the UK standard to the Australian context.
The Pilot Programme is open to 20 of our members with a closing date of 30 April or beforehand as we receive the 20 submissions.
