What is the right level

The Australian Government has endorsed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0 for all government websites, and has required all Australian, state and territory government websites to conform to the guidelines.

The Government also announced in August 2016 that Australia was to become the first country outside Europe to adopt the European standard for accessibility in procurement (EN 301 549). It is the first step in embedding accessible ICT in public procurement requirements and provides a benchmark for private sector organisations wanting to be sure the technology products and services that they buy are usable by people with a disability. An ‘Accessible ICT Procurement Toolkit’ for understanding how this works can be found at Accessible IT Procurement Toolkit*http://mandate376.standards.eu/
