Assistant Director, Workplace Diversity, Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
Ed Holicky is an Assistant Director Workplace Diversity at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), overseeing the disability portfolio of work. Ed leads an innovative team whose primary objective is to build a disability confident culture at the ATO. Key achievements to date are an in-house electronic Reasonable Adjustment Passport – an Australian Public Service first; the formation of a national network of internal Disability Advisers providing ground level support to employees with disability; and a series of disability awareness videos. The video series, scheduled to be publicly released later this year, highlight the unique and personal stories of ATO employees with disability, along with challenging perceptions, preconceived ideas and stereotyping of people with disability.
Having now established a baseline of disability awareness within the ATO, Ed is continuing his work to embed a culture of inclusiveness and support in the workplace for employees with disability with a number of projects. Projects that not only look at recruitment opportunities in the ATO for people with disability, but that also encompass career development options and job satisfaction for current employees with disability. At the heart of these projects lies Ed’s drive and passion for ensuring awareness and promotion of disability is at the forefront of diversity and inclusion strategies.
Ed has represented Australia at the Paralympics, has a Master’s in Public Health and is a qualified mediator and trained conflict coach.
