WPC Group is a group training organisation that has been dedicated to championing and promoting diversity and inclusion for over 36 years. From our 1982 origins as a non-profit community enterprise in Melbourne’s West, providing employment opportunities to refugees and socially disadvantaged groups - we have now grown into a nationwide employer partner of choice and a respected industry leader and innovator.
Our community origins and commitment to community engagement is at the core of our organisational purpose. We currently employ and train more than 650 young Australians through our national network, making us one of the largest employers of apprentices and trainees in Australia. The activities of the organisation has proved instrumental in supporting more than 10,000 young people build their skills and bridge the gap towards a meaningful career. Many of our apprentices and trainees are sourced from employment pathway programs run through our charitable arm, the Skilling Australia Foundation. These programs are customised to focus on specific audiences or emerging industries. To date, over 1,300 graduates from disadvantaged, disengaged and diverse backgrounds have passed through these pre-employment programs.
Through our related entities, we regularly consult to and advise governments in both Australia and the USA on policy development for work-based learning initiatives. We are also regularly sought out to provide expert commentary on trends and issues within the sector through the media and in industry forums.Web Address: http://www.wpcgroup.org.au/
