The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is Australia’s primary national public broadcaster which delivers content across multiple platforms, and operates from 60 locations around Australian and 12 overseas bureaux. Consistent with its Charter, the ABC broadcasts programs that contribute to a sense of national identity, that inform, educate and entertain, and that reflect Australia’s cultural diversity. The ABC broadcasts news and current affairs programs to international audiences, and encourages and promotes the performing arts within Australia.

The ABC has an Equity and Diversity Plan 2012–15, which has three key themes:  Being Inclusive, Being Audience Focused and Being Audience Accessible.
