A video has been launched by Australian Network on Disability (AND) Gold Member, NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) to highlight its ongoing commitment to disability inclusion.

Inspired by their Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2015-19, the video celebrates FACS’ achievements to date in their journey towards full access and inclusion for people with disability.

The first government agency in Australia to be awarded Disability Confident Recruiter (DCR) status, having successfully completed our DCR program, FACS aims to become an employer of choice for people with disability.

The agency is also supporting young people with disability to develop their skills through our Stepping Into™ Internship program.

“We want our workplace, our culture, and our services to be inclusive and welcoming for everyone. We’re delighted we’re now recognised for how we make sure people with disability can feel confident applying for a job with us and coming to work with us. The video shows how we’re doing this – in partnership with our staff with disability,” said FACS Secretary, Michael Coutts-Trotter.

FACS launched its DIAP in December 2015 to support the NSW Government’s commitment to identifying and breaking down the barriers that prevent people with disability from enjoying the same opportunities and choices as everyone else.
