Paxus named Disability Confident Recruiter

Paxus, Australia’s leading provider of technology and digital talent, and Australian Network on Disability (AND) Silver Member, has achieved Disability Confident Recruiter (DCR) status.
One of the first talent specialists to successfully complete AND’s DCR program, Paxus Managing Executive Jason Trevethick credits the achievement to a passion for inclusion:
“We're passionate about an inclusive workforce, and do everything we can to support candidates from all backgrounds. This helps us ensure they have access to opportunities that allow them to be successful in any workplace.”
“Our inclusive practices allow us to better support our clients’ diversity agendas, and promote a high performing and productive environment.”
Designed to support organisations in their journey toward more accessible and inclusive recruitment practices, Paxus implemented the DCR program as part of a wider approach. It included a review of all internal and external recruitment processes, a company-wide training program, and development of an onboarding compliance training series for all new staff.
“We have undertaken a number of initiatives to improve our recruitment and selection processes to ensure ease of access to jobs and accommodation of our candidates’ wide-ranging needs,” Mr Trevethick said.
Not something that can be achieved overnight, Paxus Chief People Officer Bianca Witkin acknowledged that competing business issues did present some obstacles along the way. However, their commitment to the DCR program and Charter, together with guidance and support from AND, ensured improvements were made one step at a time.
“It was great to see the level of enthusiasm of our staff when taking up our DCR training and development. The overall commitment of the organisation was inspiring, and we look forward to continuing to harness this as our diversity and inclusion practices evolve as our business grows.”
“We're delighted to have been awarded DCR status, and look forward to continuing to support candidates of all backgrounds on their career journey,” Ms Witkin said.
