Calling experts in ICT procurement
Thu 28 June 2018
The International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), a division of G3ict, is creating a professional certification for accessibility in procurement.
The new certification will have some core content and then some more specialised content targeted at US public sector, EU public sector and EN, and to the international private sector.
IAAP is seeking out experts from different geographies to build out this certification. In terms of substantive knowledge, the organisation seeks two types of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs):
- Hands-On Leaders Establishing Standards – These professionals are the leaders in the accessibility industry guiding and influencing standards and practices with government agencies, policy-making bodies, establishing the best practices in accessibility for procurement professionals.
- Procurement Accessibility Champions – These professionals are promoting the importance of accessibility in procurement within their organisations and in the profession. These SMEs have a strong understanding of the importance of procurement as part of an accessibility success plan. These professionals often will lead teams that include procurement professionals or could be a procurement specialist themselves. They are the champions bringing the importance of accessibility to organisations around the world.
If you would like to be involved in this exciting project, please contact the team at IAAP.
