Department of Social Services
The Department of Social Services (DSS) gives people with disability and their carers more control over their own lives, helping to minimise unfair disadvantage.
DSS is committed to a national approach to supporting people with disability. Through the National Disability Strategy 2010–2020, we are improving the lives of people with disability, their families and carers.
The strategy aims for a more inclusive approach to the design of policy, programmes and infrastructure, so that people with disability can participate fully in all aspects of Australian life including employment.
